We didn’t get into the Halloween spirit as much as we did last year, which is weird considering we just became new parents and Faith was barely a month old, but we still found time to buy pumpkins and decorate for trick or treaters. This year, we’ve been caught up in home renovations and going to non-existent pumpkin patches that we ended up not having any time (or energy) to put up our Halloween decor.
But at least Faith had a costume! She was too small to fit in any costumes last year so she just wore a Halloween inspired outfit. But she was asleep when the trick or treaters came by. This year my hope was to have her help pass out candy, but as I expected, she was scared of them and just stared as they came by. Oh well. She was a really cute Baby Boo though! And we had a good time passing out candy (we may have given priority to the Almond Joys, 100 Grands, and York Peppermint Patties so that the “good” candy would be leftover). We had bought 2 Costco sized bags of candy in preparation for the hoard of trick or treaters that we were not prepared for last year, and this time we did pretty good! I even bought a few last minute bags of candy JUST in case.. and we ended up not needing all of them.
Baby Boo was good at keeping an eye out for the trick or treaters as they were coming in, and she’d watch them as they made their way off our porch, it was the cutest thing to see her poke her head out the door after freezing in place when she’d see them. Overall, a successful Halloween, and I’m vowing to do better next year!
