I’m slowly approaching the end of my second trimester, so I wanted to share my progress so far along with a little bump style update, especially since my last update was at 20 weeks! **WARNING: Some of the information I’m sharing may be TMI so at least you’ve been warned!**
Second Trimester Update
How far along? 26 weeks and 3 days
How big is the peanut? According to my Ovia app, he is over 14 inches tall and weighs about 2 pounds (the size of a head of a butternut squash)
Total weight gain/loss? At my last appointment, I had only gained 2 pounds, but I think I’ve at gained at least 5 since then. I’ll find out during my appointment next week.
Maternity clothes? Living in my maternity jeans, Blanqi leggings, and whatever sweats/tights I can fit into! Still able to wear most of my baggy/oversized sweaters for work.
Sleep? As good as it can be considering. The baby doesn’t wake me up- my 16 month old does!
Best moment this week? Realizing I can fit into one of my new favorite hoodies!
Symptoms? Energy has been pretty good for the most part, appetite has increased but not much compared to my last pregnancy. A bit more constipated this time so I’ve been trying to get more fiber in which helps. Definitely have to slow down a bit as there are moments of labored breathing, but luckily not happening too often.
Food cravings? Nothing in particular, usually something citrus-y in the afternoon like a smoothie or strawberries/mangoes, or something sweet.
Food aversions? Still not a huge fan of Vietnamese food, much to my husband’s dismay
Gender? We found out it was a boy when I was only 14 weeks. I HAD to mentally prepare myself because I had a feeling it was a boy, and I feel like I don’t know what I’m going to do!
Labor signs? None yet luckily, but I’ve got 2 more weeks till this trimester ends so **knock on wood** no signs come up either.
Belly button in or out? It’s still kinda in I think lol
What I miss? I miss being able to pick up Faith and not worrying how much she’s squishing my belly. I miss WINE and OYSTERS and SANDWICHES and SUSHI **Insert crying emoji here**
What I’m looking forward to? Seeing Faith become a big sister, and getting to hold this baby who’s constantly kicking me, in my arms. Also drinking wine, eating oysters, sandwiches, and sushi as mentioned above.
Milestones? Irwin felt the baby’s kicks, though it may have happened in the first trimester actually, and they’re super strong. I’ve had unsolicited comments about my belly bump that I didn’t have with my first pregnancy. See here.
Bump? My bump feels as big as when I was 38 weeks pregnant, though I could be exaggerating. Maybe it just feels that way…
