After two years of talking practically every day about her plans, the BIG day finally arrived.
And I never could have imagined how beautiful the day would be.
The weather didn't seem like it was going to cooperate that morning, overcast skies and a light drizzle stayed overhead for a good part of the morning and early afternoon. Janelle decided to do her "opposite of" rain dance, because it worked when her mom did it on her wedding day. By the time it was my turn to get my hair and makeup done, the weather still hadn't changed, and we all prepared ourselves for rain. Eventually we all finished getting ready, and as I helped zip Uri into her dress, I couldn't help but get tears in my eyes.. She was the most beautiful bride I've ever seen. We all had to look away so we wouldn't start crying before the ceremony began, but goodness it finally hit me - Uri's finally going to be a MRS.!!
We walked out of the dressing room.. and.. it turns out Janelle's non-rain dance actually worked. There was not a cloud in the sky and the weather was so perfect! Unfortunately I was unable to get any pictures of the ceremony, but it was just beyond words. Once the music started playing for Uri to walk down the aisle, I started getting goosebumps, and the tears started coming down. I must have made the ugliest face on camera from trying to NOT cry...
The ceremony was short and sweet, and thoughtful I might add. Uri was good until she got to her vows, and thats when the rest of the wedding party started breaking down too. Then it ended, and they walked down the aisle in a flurry of bubbles. GAH why don't I have pictures?? Anyway, it was just pure magic. And the reception was so much fun - including a surprise performance to Justin Bieber's "Baby" by the newlyweds, the food was absolutely delicious (one of the wedding favors was a s'mores kit complete with a heart shaped marshmallow), and the music and company were perfect.
Congratulations again to my lovely BFF and her wonderful HUSBAND!!
