Foodie Friday: Arkansas

There were a LOT of chain restaurants around Bentonville/Rogers, so that's what we stuck to for the most part. Our first night was spent at the Olive Garden, where I tried their new Parmesan crusted steak with ravioli- SO delicious. Breakfast was always at the hotel where it was complimentary and pretty good. My new friend in Bentonville took us to a Thai restaurant (one of very few Asian restaurants there) that was owned by her friend. It was the best, most authentic tasting Thai food I had. I got the Pad Thai (I think) and it was wonderfully spicy and well flavored. Followed by mango with sticky rice and coconut ice cream. YUM. We had dinner with other members of the Dot Com team at Famous Dave's BBQ, where I had the boneless chicken wings with cole slaw, broccoli, and some really good cornbread. Afterwards, despite full bellies, we ventured off to Andy's Frozen Custard. I was EXTREMELY excited about this because I LOVE LOVE LOVE frozen custard. The texture is the BEST. It started raining while we lined up outside, and a cold wind had started to blow, but we hung out to enjoy our frozen treats. We were also told to try Chick-Fil-A, so Karen and I tried it for lunch. It was pretty good, but nothing too special. I'd say my favorite food spots were the Thai restaurant and Andy's Frozen Custard. If you ever find yourself in Bentonville, definitely visit those places. Trust me, you'll be happy you did.
