This summer has been crazy and intense- both at work and in my personal life. The only times I have felt good are when I've gotten a good workout in, and being more careful about my eating habits (i.e. watching my carb intake again). After the whirlwind of weddings and baby shower's attended practically every weekend, and traveling/celebratory drinking for the last two months, (and a horrified glance at the scale on Sunday), I decided to start working out again. I finally feel like I'm getting back on track.
One of the things that motivates me is reading the articles I get daily from Livestrong.com
Their articles are very informative, and for whatever reason, very motivating. The most recent thing I learned, thanks to my smart bf (and Pauline Nordin), is that weight training will help you burn fat moreso than plain cardio. I love running, but unfortunately work has left me a little bit weary afterwards, so I've had no time to enjoy a good run. So I decided to start lifting weights under the guidance of my bf. I've noticed a significant difference in doing so, and coupling the strength exercises with doing yoga via my trusty Yoga App, Pocket Yoga, and being more cognizant of what I'm eating, I'm feeling great!
What motivated this post today was an article I recently read from Livestrong- I think it explains how muscle training really is beneficial, and is the most overlooked exercise when trying to burn fat.
Happy fat burning!
