Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in mommyhood, adulthood, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Camp Soak-Ana-Wana

This past weekend, we went camping near Truckee River, in an area that is somewhat close to Lake Tahoe. The campsite was right across the river from this log mansion, it was a bit surreal, and a steep contrast to where we were staying, which was really just dirt and trees. It was pretty much the last good weather-weekend to go camping, and it also happened to be our friend Tony's birthday. Typically I'm totally down for camping, but ONLY if there are toilets and sinks. I can go without a shower for a few days.. but this time totally pushed me to my limit. I didn't realize what a "vaulted toilet" was until I got there. It was not a pleasant experience. Other than that, we had a great time, and thanks to Uri teaching me a new word ("soaking" - look that up in relation to Mormon's), and our camping trip was then dubbed Camp Soak-ana-wana. Also, I managed to eat double my weight in food, because Tony's sister, Tina, is an amazing cook. We had spaghetti with garlic bread for dinner - the most delicious spaghetti I've ever had, and then she even made steak, eggs, and bacon for breakfast. We even had bloody mary's thanks to Rina (for those of us who were hungover...). And of course, I had to pitch in with everything needed to make s'mores, which included the "campfire size" marshmallows, which were larger than Renee's hand (see below).

This week will be devoted to cleaner eating and regular exercise because... I feel disgusting now. But it was totally worth it.
