Today marks the one year anniversary of my perfect vision, and I couldn't be happier.
The first 6 months took some adjustment- I experienced some dry eye, but that was nothing new. I had been having problems with dry eyes since before getting LASIK. I thought I would be reaching for my contact lens and solution every morning, but oddly enough it only happened once, and I never looked for it again. It's amazing what I've been able to do when I don't have to fuss with glasses and contact - camping, rub my eyes whenever I feel like it, swim, run, drink, stay up all night, see at all times of the day and night, LIVE.
I absolutely love my new eyes, and I'm so glad I finally took the plunge. It's made me a much happier person. You never realize how much you take for granted until you've lost or gained something, and during the first few months, I marvelled at the things I was able to see so clearly. Even being able to see the alarm clock in the morning is so amazing.
Anyway, if you're still thinking about doing it- JUST DO IT. You will be so glad you did. And in case you need a reminder of what I went through, click here.
